Support

Nothing breaks on the day it launches.

It breaks eight months later, quietly, and the owner is usually the last to know. Support is the boring monthly subscription that catches it first — $255 a month, on any site, whoever built it.

It was working the last time I looked.

Websites don't fail on the day they're built

They fail eight months later, on a Tuesday, because a plugin updated itself, or a certificate expired, or someone edited a page and the form quietly lost its connection. Nothing sends an alert. The owner finds out when a customer mentions it, or doesn't find out at all.

Support is the boring monthly subscription that catches that. Updates and security patches, uptime and speed monitored so a problem reports itself, backups you could actually restore from, and the small edits you'd otherwise sit on for a month — a new price, a new phone number, a photo.

One piece of free advice while you're here: being locked out by whoever built your last site is an ordinary way to lose a website. Ask whoever holds your accounts to write the list down — with us or with anyone else.

What you get

  • Monthly updates and security patches
  • Uptime and speed monitoring, so a problem reports itself
  • Backups, kept somewhere you could actually restore from
  • Small content edits — a price, a phone number, a photo
  • Priority response when something breaks
  • Works on any site, whoever built it

When you don't need this

Four situations where this is the wrong thing to buy. If one of them is yours, say so on the call and we'll point you at the cheaper answer.

01

You already have a developer. Then you already have support, and paying twice for the same monthly hour isn't a plan.

02

Your site is one page and nothing on it changes. There's very little to maintain, and we'd be charging you to watch a wall.

03

What you want is a redesign, in instalments. This keeps what exists working; it doesn't slowly turn it into something else.

04

You'd rather do it yourself. It's genuinely doable: run the updates, test every form once a month, and keep a backup you've actually tried restoring.

FAQ

Does support have to be on a site you built?

No. Support works on any existing site, ours or anyone else's.

What counts as a small edit under a support plan?

A price, a phone number, a photo, a paragraph, a new person on the team page. A new page or a new section is a build, and we'll quote it separately rather than quietly absorbing it and doing it badly.

I already have a site you built. Do I need support?

The build includes post-launch support. This is the ongoing version, for after that — and for the sites we didn't build.

What does support do if my site goes down?

The monitoring is what tells us, usually before you notice. Priority response is what the subscription buys — that's the queue you're in, not a contractual response time we'd rather not make up.
